Battery light flashing?

    I have a second hand Compaq Presario laptop on which the orange battery
    light keeps on flashing. I thought the battery had died, so bought another
    from PCWorld telephone service.

    Installed the battery and two days later the orange battery light is still
    flashing. Has anyone any ideas what the problem is.
