I have a BD7-R systemboard that intermittently beeps at me. I have disabled all the temperature warning thresholds in the BIOS and LED indicator on the system board shows FF. Because I run multiple hard drives and a gaming video card, I have added additional fans in the case for cooling. The system runs at around 95 degrees most of the time. There is also a high-end copper heatsink on the processor. I am very certain its not a temperature issue.

Has anyone else experienced this same problem? Any ideas?

does it seem to happen in conjunction with high disk activity?

Not necessary. I can happen if I'm just doing email or during a gaming session.

I have heard of this issue with high disk activity and I have also heard of it with certain keyboard activity... no reliable fixes in either situation.

Come to think of it, my system did the same thing about two weeks before HD failure, although I could not say with any certainty that the two are related.

I have ran hard drive diagnostics and chkdsk on all my hard drives. They all report to be health. At this point, its just an annouance.

Thank you for your input.

Randy,
You didn't mention any mainboard diagnostic software running...but if you EVER start up Winbond's Hardware Doctor, you will get Hardware Doctor alarms even if though you have exited Hardware Doctor. The beeps could be from occasional voltage errors or whatever else Hardware Doctor is set to recognize. Myron

I have already removed the Hardware Doctor and checked to be sure that the service it installs is gone.

Generally speaking, we're not supposed to be posting binaries in this group. I carry that same bios on my FTP server at the address below under the /beta section (just to keep it separate from the regular Abit released bios sets) and I'll be happy to host most files like this in the future so feel free to send them to me for hosting on the server and point folks there.
