Homie,
I just wanted to say a huge Thank You for your previous posts and information regarding the Abit premature capacitor failure issue. Armed with your information and my trusty Weller soldering iron, I successfully replaced all 11 of my bad 1500uF caps this evening. The board booted right up (it actually never failed to boot before, but the bulging and leaking caps were driving me crazy!) Mouser delivered the new parts very quickly and without issue. My other Abit boards have been fine with no signs of capacitor issues. They are also quite a bit than the BE6-II.

Thanks!

DanO

I am glad to be of service,
I do recommend changing all the 1000uf caps also because they have the same high failure rate. Maybe that can be your winter project ? BTW, my kits include all the caps, solder, solder-wik, instructions and shipping via Priority Mail is included , probably the same price or less than you paid for just 11 caps from Mouser... Plus, I ship the same day via priority mail I am not trying to make you feel bad, like I said, I am glad I was able to help, this just looked like prime advertising ground.

And yet, not even a single mention of the sheepies.

Thanks for the info. Only the 1500's had shown any signs of failure. I'll keep my eyes on the 1000's. I believe you charge $25 for your kit, which is definitely reasonable. I really like to tinker and improve my skills. This seemed like an obvious challenge that I wanted to take since this board wasn't really needed any longer. I paid about $12 for the caps, including the shipping. I already had solder and wick so I feel I did alright price-wise.

What would the Mouser part# be for the 1000uF caps?

Thanks,
DanO

Mouser didn't charge you shipping?
In small quantity the UPWoj152's are over a buck each ??? I buy em 2 thousand at a time.and they are abut 40 cents each with shipping, I just received 5000 2200's and finally got down under 26cents my cost with shipping.... I never in my life thought I would have over 15,000 capacitors in my home.....it's those damn aliens f*ckin with me, I just know it! The n# for the 1000's is UVZoj102 if I remeber correctly.
