BE7-RAID and IS7 CPU temps too high?

Recently rebuilt a couple of machines with the BE7-RAID and IS7 boards and
CPU temps appear to be too high...high as in mid 50'sC idling when in an
ambient environment of 75F. This is a radical departure from the mid 30s
idle temps with the EPoX boards they replaced.

I did some Google sleuthing and found out that the mis-reporting of temps
for these boards seems to be an issue, but does anyone know how
inaccurate -- as a percentage or number -- they're off?

    IS7 with 2.4B
    BE7-RAID with 3.06B

    Thanks.

How are you reading the temps? in the bios or using software?

I would go with the bios for accurate temps.

have you tried updating the bios? what temps are reported via 3rd party
    software?
