Would like to know if anyone had success with "Sunsway/ST Lab" USB 2.0 PCI cards: "PCI 2 Port USB 2.0 adapter (ALI chip)" (Model No.: ?) and "PCI 4 +1 Ports USB 2.0 adapter" (Model No. : PCI-USBNEC101-5P) on BH6?

The manufacturer states that they *do* work with PCI 2.1, *but* that they have recieved "complaints" from some owners of Abit etc BX chipset board owners...

Any other USB 2.0 cards known to work? Adaptec 3100, Belkin...?

I don't really know about the USB / PCI-issue here, but I'll highly recommend that you DO NOT use Sunsway products _at all_!!!

The reason I'm saying this? Well, they may be cheap, but this is a clear case of "you get what you pay for".

I've had a Sunsway switch - died on me after a couple of months. I've had a Sunsway NIC, that somehow managed to dislike it's own drivers (those that came with the card), and basically refused to function properly until I D/L and installed a driver that didn't really belong to that card at all.

I've got a friend who had been using some networking components from Sunsway (switches & NICs), and he had some strange speed-problems at irregular intervals - couldn't figure out what was wrong - until he changed some of the hardware from Sunsway to Intel / 3Com - no more problems.

Basically, it's cheap products, and it's lousy quality too!

Thanks. Alright, I'd better stay away from Sunsway, I guess... :-) Then Adaptec USB2Connect 3100 and Belkin F5U219 remains "on my list". Anyone that has had success with any of these on BH6?

I would avoid the Belkin card. I tried one in my BE6 and could not even get it detected. I know someone else on this forum tried one in a BF6 and ended up sending it back to Belkin.

I have a Nisis card in my BE6 now and after initial problems getting it going it is in and stable now. (Oh I wish I hadn't just said that!!)

Hope this helps.

I'm using "Mentor" (VIA Technologies Inc VT6202 USB Controler) on the BH6 with no problem.

Using an ADS Technologies 5-port (4 ext, 1 int, NEC controller) USB2.0 card. Works great, even sharing IRQs, on a BF6 (BX).
