Now final. FlashMenu found it, even though it's not on the web site. Also available via ftp at

ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/download/flashmenu/ic7_18.bin

Here are the release notes from the previous beta, couldn't find anything fresher:
-------------
New Fixes/Features
1. Fixed intermittent HDD detection failure when sets "OnChip SATA" to "Combined Mode" and then enable RAID.
2. Revised DRAM timing settings for PSB800/DDR320 (CPU : DRAM = 5:4) and PSB800/DDR266 (CPU : DRAM = 3:2) configurations.
3. Updated i875 BIOS spec Rev. 1.7 for DDR memory module.
4. Fixed power off failure problem under MS DOS environment when "WakeUp by Alarm" is enabled and set to "Time Alarm".
5. Fixed the problem that system intermittently shuts down by itself when "Shutdown When CPU FAN Fail" option is enabled in "PC Health Status".
6. Fixed the problem that some USB 2.0 storage cause POST delay (system frozen up) for about 1 minute.
7. BIOS Compile Date: 10/2/2003.
-----------------

I've spent the morning testing to see if it would fix my problem with PAT being disabled with four sticks of ram. It didn't ;>(

Maybe gained a few points in Sandra, but nothing to write home about.

Here's hoping some of you folks with drive detection problems find relief.

TomG, leave the sheep alone and give this a try.

Yep indeedy. Probably also worth mentioning that build 1.3 for the IC7-Max3 has also gone final and is available via Flashmenu or at

ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/download/flashmenu/ic7p_13.bin

Lol! He'll have something better than this to play with soonish. ;-)

I have flashed the 1.8 bios but still have to see if I can gain anything in regards to ram capability or PAT/GAT. I could run at 2, 5, 2, 2 and ratio of 5:4 at 244 FSB even before the bios update so I'll see if I can gain any tweaks and post on that later...
