bios change for acer tm alpha-550

Discussion in 'Laptops' started by Robert Becker, Jul 6, 2004.

  1. hi,
i encountered the following problem. i updated my bios to get rid of
the bad cooling procedure of my laptop (very noisy). later versions
    improved that a bit.
unfortunately it seems that the version of the bios i got is not
optimal for my computer since it supports the 14" version of this sort
of laptop. i have display problems (incorrect recalculation of pixels
when non-native resolution is used) and also the dvd-playback is
    bucking.
    support does not help.
before i changed the bios, everything seemed to be fine (besides the
    fan noise).
anybody who has an older or newer bios-version for the 15" acer model,
which is also the same model as some of the older amilo d-series (also
LifeBook 30N3C, all models with the cy23 code, i guess)?

    thanks for helping,
    robert
