I just bought a new ABit motherboard and have WIndows 2000 Pro on it. When I have anythign plugged into the USB port, it will blue screen on me right when WIndows starts. I installed SP 4 and still have the same problem. If I have a USB optical mouse in there, its fine, but if I pkug anything else in addition to that USB mouse I blue screen. I tried taking the mouse off, same result. When i only have the mouse plugged in, everythign is OK. So far it happens with two webcams, a ZIP drive and an Epson Printer. What the heck is going on? The blue screen message says something about an Exception not being handled.

Have you installed the newest Intel inf drivers (assuming it's an intel chipset, you didn't tell us anything about the board other than it's an Abit)?
