Boot Panther from MBR partition scheme

Discussion in 'Apple' started by David Vidal Rodríguez, Dec 16, 2003.

  1. Hi!

I've done a Carbon Copy of my iBook's hard disk to a FireWire external
drive, which I use to share data between Macs and i386's. Therefore, the
partition scheme of this disk isn't an Apple one but an MBR.
As I've supposed, it is not sufficient to copy the whole thing to a
partition with type 0xAF (HFS+) and mark it bootable, so what is still
    needed?

I believe that OpenFirmware reccognizes MBR partitions, so it should be
capable to boot something from there, isn't it?

    Regards,
    David.
