hi i got my IC7-G and an sata hd.
Allmost everytime when i boot it changes from the bootable device in bios. i flashed the bios with the latest from abit but now the problem is back again...

shall i flash it again or what shall i do im running win XP Pro Regards Tommy

so you are saying that the system does not save the boot device in the CMOS or that it saves it but then is lost on reboot? have you tried this board out of the case for a while to see if the problem still happens? possibly you have a short to the case mounting from the mobo and it is draining the CMOS when the system is rebooted or powered off?

Yes if the computer is on and i just reboot theres no problems... its when i have power off then on next day or so then the addon gets wrong in bios... what to do? regards Tommy "TomG" skrev i meddelandet

remove the board from the case and try it outside of the case for a while. if it retains the setup information, then you had a short to the mobo from the case mounting.

Sorry since im from sweden and my main language is not english im afaraid i dont understand what you are saying...you mean that i should start everything without a case connected to the mobo? if so why? regards Tommy

yes, I am saying to try running the board out of the case in the event that there is a short from the case mounting to the motherboard. take the board out of the case and install the video and whatever is necessary to get the system up and running and see if it looses the settings.
