I was wondering how how to make a bootable zip disk, without installing Iomega tools or the like. There is of course support in the bios, but format doesn't have the option to copy system files, so I'm guessing it may require boot files similar to those for a bootable CD-ROM. If anyone has an easy method please let me know. Sure i'm missing an obvious option.

Have you tried the format /s option. If not, you can also try sys.com [drive letter]

Why not load Iomega tools?
Because Iomega Tools installs all sorts of useless, intrusive software that not many experienced Users will tolerate. ======================== "Enkidu" wrote:

Ah! I see, but you're not an experienced user are you? Actually, a bit of a tedious dullard, no? An experienced user would know to search through the Iomega webpage where she would find that the option to make zip disks bootable is within the Iomega software and only available when running Win98. An experienced user would know that she could simply remove the offending software after the boot disks have been created. An experienced user would also know to take her Zip disk question to a Zip disk usegroup. An experienced user wouldn't bother with a bootable Zip disk when there much better choices of bootable media.

Clearly you are bound for corporate management,

LOL - "simply"? Where have I heard that before?

I was simply making the point that a Zip will run as a generic "Removable Disk" without all the Iomega Tools baggage. In any case, thanks for the chuckle. ======================== "Enkidu" wrote:
