G'Day folks,
There was a post a couple days ago about how to boot from a SCSI CD. I replied w/o thinking.
Simply make your boot CD-R, and have your SCSI CD drivers in the config.sys and autoexec.bat files of your floppy which you use to make the boot CD.
My Boot CD uses a menu structure where I can select 6 options. The first 5 are for SCSI CD drives, all using different SCSI cards. And I use Win98 'DOS' so I can read/write FAT32 partitions.
That's all there is to it. If you know how to make a boot floppy which has the drivers for your SCSI CD so after you boot, you can access your SCSI CD drive, you're already there! The tough part is when you have more than one CD Drive in your system. I can't find the info on MSCDEX.exe in my DOS 5.0 book to know how to set that configuration to work. So on computers I work on which have 2 CD drives, I can only boot from, and read/write with the master CD drive.
Cheers,
Billy
