Booting problem with K7ADA V1.0, Blinking cursor after initial screen.

    I bought a barebones package with a K7ADA V1.0 mainboard. I have a
    266MHZ AMD Athlon XP 1900 cpu on it. I have PC2100 DDR 256mb RAM.
    First I installed windows 98SE on my computer. Everything was working
    fine until I turned off my computer. When I turned it on for the
    first time the operating system wouln't start, instead it brought me
    to a blank screen with a blinking cursor at the upper left corner. I
    got rid of the OS and bought XP and installed it...same prob. I
    noticed when I pushed the reset button after it brought me to the
    blank screen with the cursor...the start up is fine...It goes start to
    the windows xp startup page...and everything seems to work fine...
    Does anyone know about this problem?
