Hello there,
I have the below kit and have been experiencing a problem with my CD-Rom(s). I imagine it is power so i have ordered a 550w PSU from Scan. But, if it is not the PSU, I will buy a new Motherboard so on with the question....
Instead of trawling through the abit webpage would anyone suggest a suitable motherboard replacement for my kit below? My only requirement is 8 ide channels instead of the standard 4... as In four IDE connectors instead of the standard two. This is due to the fact that I wish to rid myself of the additional ide card that I have. Prefer to simply have everything on one board.
Any suggestion?
ECS K7s5a motherboard
Athlon XP 2400+
ATI Radeon 9800 Non Pro
1 x Maxtor 7200rpm drive
2 x HD 8mb cached 7200rpm.
Hercules game Theater XP Sound
Promise Ultra TX2 IDE Card
3 case fans
400w PSU.
Did have a nice Phillips Combi DVD / CDRW drive. No longer works. Same thing happening to my CD Rom now. Simply falls off the machine after flashing for a bit and you can hear the access through the speakers I have, then, disconnects. Dammit
