    Hi All,

I have a curiosity to know can we use a rechargeable battery backup
system for the on board RAM? Can we extend this system to back up BIOS
    Memory?

Hi, BIOS is already backed up along with the clock. That's what the
"Coin" shaped battery on the MB is for. Ram is Dynamic Memory.
Circuits on the MB, used to be in the processor, must be running to
refresh Dynamic menory every approximately 1 ms. Standby does all of
    it. Jim
