Back in mid-January, I updated my 4550's BIOS with an update file from
    the Dell website. I downloaded self-extractor BR67246.exe, which I
launched and it created the update file D4550A08, on my desktop. I
placed that file on floppy, and then updated my 4550 booting from the
    floppy. All went well.

I'm doing some cleaning up of my desktop. I deleted BR67246.exe, but
D4550A08 tells me that it is being used by another person or program, and
won't delete. Safe mode offers no remedy.

Anyone know what's up with this?

    TIA

Right click the file, select properties, remove the check from the read only
box. OK. Try to delete again.
