Can't change the Barton CPU multiplier on Abit KD7A MB

I Have a Abit KD7A motherboard with a Barton 2500+ CPU. All the L3 cpu straps are intact and uncut so the CPU is unlocked. However I can't change the multiplier. When I use the softmenu and user configuration it says it changed it but it doesn't. The boot up remains locked at 11x multiplier. When I try changing softmenu chip change from 2500+ to 2x00+ I get a message cpu configuration unworkable message.

I can't find any information about anybody using a KD7A MB and changing the multiplier. Has anybody out there been successful????
