Ok... today I noticed that some of the caps on my BP6 are starting to "bulge". It's the tall ones sitting by the CPU sockets, and I can only spot two that are of this kind - both bulging.

I'm in Sweden and have a *very* limited budget so I figure I'll start looking for cheap capacitators right now. Do I need to replace every cap? Or can I be cheap and replace just the ones that are bulging? (Well, I probably
*can* but will it do any good?)

Anything to think about when soldering? I'm good at soldering on single layer boards but have never tried a multilayer board.

..anyway I'll probably go with Homies BP6 cap-kit. With all the included stuff it's really cheap! Sadly, I only have $1 on my account right now, but I have an old P2 standing by if my BP6 server/router fails.

they might replace the board depending on the age of the board and the warranty provided in the country that the end user is in. also, you might just get back a board with the exact same caps as what was in there to begin with and then you'll face the same problem as you already did. BigBadger repairs boards in the UK and maybe he is within shipping distance that is not too expensive?

Abit will replace boards with defective caps. Talk to their tech support.

Roger,

Does this mean that Abit will now repair (for free) out-of-warranty boards that have bad caps? I've never seen them acknowledge this before. I'm only aware of doing a $25 repair (plus you pay the shipping to them).
