Changing TV Tuner capture filter output size?

Discussion in 'ATI' started by Warrick Wilson, May 27, 2005.

  1. I'm playing with a third-party tool that can pull TV signals into a web page
from a TV Tuner card. It's using DirectShow under the hood, and is
    implemented as an ActiveX control.

I've tried it with 3 ATI cards so far - 9800 Pro, TV Wonder Pro, and TV
Wonder USB 2.0. The 9800 works great, but the other two don't look as good.
I did some playing around with GraphEdit, and it seems that the Preview pin
on the Capture Filter for the 9800 defaults to 720x480, but the other two
default to 320x240 and 720x240, respectively.

Is there some way I can change the registry, hack a driver, use an ini or
cfg file, or whatever to make the other systems default to their biggest
output size? I'm not worried about screwing up compatibility with other
programs - these machines are being used for dedicated functions, and only
will run this software. It means we could use cheaper boards to do this
(particularly useful where the 9800 won't fit into some PCs that are being
    considered).

    Thanks.
