Hi, all,
First, my appreciation for all the responses to my first posting.
Anyway, I could not get the KT7E to work. Got hold of an unused NF7 w/ a different video card, different memory but same Athlon 800 that I've used successfully for 2 years until my problems with the KT7E. Same "CMOS checksum error". I now suspect the CPU. I have swapped it in and out of several mobos over the years with no problems but could I have finally killed it?
Or, could the CMOS checksum error be a strange coincidence?
Thanks for any insights, Nick

Hi,
I just picked up a used KT7E board (I already have a working KT7E in another computer). On 1st (and every subsequent) boot I get the message "CMOS checksum error - Defaults loaded" and the computer is frozen, I can't get into the BIOS menu or anything. I tried clearing the CMOS & removing the battery to no effect. I have a previously working Athlon 800 installed. BIOS version is the ZH (original) version. Naturally I can't upgrade that until the computer boots.
I only have the graphics, memory, HDD & FDD installed. Is the board dead or is there something else I can try?
