My Dell dimension E510 just completely died yesterday while my wife was using it. It completely powered off. The light on the power button is off. Pressing it does nothing.
At first I thought it was the power supply. However, the light on the motherboard is lit (which I think means it is getting power) and it's green. I also removed the power supply and tried shorting the ATX connector. When I did that, the power supply fan came on. Both of those make me think the power supply is OK. But if it isn't the power supply, what's the problem? Motherboard dead? What could I do to figure that out? Thanks for any help!!!
