Hey
I'm new here so hello to all
I'm trying to upgrade ram in my gf's dimension 3000, it currently has 2 x 512mb ddr 400 pc3200 non-ecc filling its 2 slots, so I want to up them to 1gb sticks. However, clever clogs here just bought 2 sticks from ebay, but when paying, I realised the big red note telling me they're ECC and to check compatibility...so I did, and dells manual on their site says non ecc.
I thought I'd ask before I start worming my wayout of the transaction, whether I could in fact use the ECC, seeing as I'm replacing all the system's memory?
Any replies welcome, thanks in advance
