This morning when I first turned on my PC, there was this high pitch mechnical noise that would vary whenever the computer was "thinking". I swore, turned off the computer, and started it back up again 30 minutes later. The noise was gone.
I've heard that noise before, but this time it was louder and more frequent. When I contacted Dell they said to unplug the tower, hold the power button on the tower down for 30 seconds, then open the tower, unplug the two cables that go into the fan, and that should fix the problem. If it happens again to repeat the process. According to the tech the problem is that a cable might be getting in the path of the fan.
Has anyone experienced this issue before, or do anyone know if what Dell tells me is correct? Please advise. Thank you kindly.
