I was trying to upgrade my memory from 256 ( i had two 128s) to run
    at 394md .

Now it crashes constantly and seems to conflict with an external
    keyboard and mouse.

It does not seem to be the DIMM slots, because it works with 2 128s or
    1 256, it does not work with 1 128 and 1 256. Brands are
different, but all are PC100 CL 2?

    I am stumped.

    Anyone?

    Any suggestions?

Are you absolutely certain that the new 256MB stick is _solely_ PC100 and
    not PC133/100?

I've seen this behaviour (and worse) on some laptops with PC133 RAM.

    Regards,
