I have a 1.5 year old Dell Vostro 1000. I have been having an issue lately of the backlight dimming a few seconds after the computer boots. I have gone into my display settings to adjust it but it shows that the light is already at its highest setting. I do have a bad battery due to a bad power jack that will be replaced soon (just waiting for the time to tackle the job) so I wonder if that is either the reason for the problem or a contributing factor, or if the problem is something else altogether. If anyone has had this problem and knows what it is, please let me know...thanks!
