Years ago I used to use Direct CD (ADAPTEC) to burn directly to a CD.
Is there a dvd equivalent of this?

    Thanks,

    Justin

There appears to be so. Run a search via Google for 'dvd rw' (no quotes).

It brought back 5,740,000 English pages when I ran it.

I think he's asking about software.

    I think you're right.

Nero 6 supports packet writing to re-writeable DVDs.

I am not wanting the ability to write to RW. Any old software will do
that. I would like to write DVD-RW via a drive letter in windows (just
    like Direct CD).

    Thanks.

    That's what packet-writing does.
Under Nero it's called 'InCD' (as I recall) and requires that the disc be
    re-writeable.

Roxio also offers the option, though I don't recall the name of their
    utility.
