KX7-333R motherboard in a 0/1 configuration, running HighPoint RAID
management software, returns message "Disk failure at Controller 1,Channel
2,Slave". Does this mean that the controller is on its way out?

Yeah, that or a loose connection. Best run some disk utils on the Ch2
    "slave" by itself
