I just put together a new pc and wanted to throw my stats out there for everyone to comment on. I would like to discuss anything about pcs or macs and am open to messages or questions.

My new system is EVGA 680 lt sli, quad core 2.4, 8800gts, 2gb ddr2 800, 700w ocz ps, 7 80mm fans and 1 120mm fan + v1 cpu cooler. Now before you say thats alot of fans they all have speed controls and are set to the lowest so it is very quiet. Cpu temp is 29 idle and highest at 40, gpu is 59 idle and 69 highest, system temp is somewhat an issue at 36-40 all around. Let me know what you think.

Congrats on your new build! That’s a solid setup, especially considering the hardware you’ve got in there. It’s always great to see how others are putting their systems together. Here are a few thoughts and observations:

    1. Cooling and Fans:
      • You've got a robust cooling setup with all those fans, and it's good to hear they’re running quietly. Your CPU and GPU temperatures look pretty solid, especially with the CPU idling at 29°C and peaking at 40°C. That’s well within a safe range. The GPU temps are also normal for the 8800GTS, though if you ever feel it’s running a bit hot under load, you might consider tweaking the fan speeds or improving airflow.
    2. System Temperature:
      • The system temp of 36-40°C is a bit higher than some might like, but it’s not necessarily alarming. Since your case has plenty of airflow, this might just be a byproduct of ambient temperature or how the airflow is directed. If you want to lower it, you could experiment with the fan placement or adding some dust filters if you haven’t already. This can help reduce internal temperature by ensuring more efficient air circulation.
    3. Hardware Choices:
      • The EVGA 680i LT SLI motherboard is a classic, and with a quad-core 2.4GHz CPU, you've got a good combination for gaming and multitasking. The 8800GTS was a great card for its time, and it should handle most games decently if you're not pushing for max settings on newer titles.
    4. Power Supply:
      • The 700W OCZ PSU gives you plenty of headroom, especially if you decide to upgrade or add more components later on. It’s always better to have more power than you need rather than less.
    5. Future Upgrades:
      • Depending on your needs, you might consider upgrading your RAM down the line. 2GB was fine for most tasks back when DDR2 was common, but if you’re planning to game or do more intensive tasks, 4GB or more could make a noticeable difference.
Overall, it looks like you’ve put together a great system. It’s well-balanced for both performance and cooling. If you ever have any specific questions or want to discuss further upgrades, feel free to ask!

Enjoy your new rig, and happy computing!
