Suggest prior to Flash BIOS, you go into BIOS Setup and view each category and item settings. There may be customized settings you want to have for later. When you Flash all settings in BIOS reset to default. Be sure to unplug computer before clear CMOS jumper.

Sometimes you can get away without doing it, but I would recommend that you unplug the system then clear the CMOS after flashing the BIOS.

matter of opinion. if anything strange happens, and there have been documented issues with not clearing the CMOS, then drop back and clear it if you decided to skip that step.

If the non-volitile data (battery backed up) address map for the new bios is different from the old one then A RESET IS REQUIRED. The consequence of not resetting includes damage to components.

If the mappings haven't changed then a reset is not required. Trouble is, you have no way of knowing if the mappings have changed - so just reset.
