Funny, my new laptop has funny sound issues... any feedback..?

  1. I just got a new Toshiba Satellite the one with thumbprint scanner and
    such.

Long story short, I had some issues with wireless because there are
    like 3 programs
different ones that want to control the wireless so I removed the Intel
    one, left the
    COnfigFree and xp's.

Now after all the updates and patches, svchost.exe eats lots of memory
    and once I do
a end task (well wont kill it) CPU goes from 100% to lower...

Sound comes on an greets, when computer starts, suddenly, I want to
    play a Cd and
media player says ou.. wait, you don't have a sound device.. but I
    do... so I reboot..

But before I reboot, that lamo sound comes on from XP, tada... etc.. so
    there is sound.

Any suggestions? I did check control panel and the device is there..
I see the audio codecs, conexant high def. audio, legacy audio driver,
legacy video capture device, media control dev. video codec.. and non
have a red X or yellow exclamation mark.

Different activities look for different sound devices. Use the control
panel, and see which devices are assigned to which activity. An example
would be when you go to your sound options: and you see that you have
separate control on: wave, SW Synth, CD Player, Line In. Each can be
associated with something different. Give us some more detailed
information. Glad to help if I can. dr.

  3. Ended up killing the svchost.exe or some, that would cause the high CPU
usage, but that would kill some other service so I ended up recovering
the factory/defaults from CDs and erase everything, after, uninstall
all the BS toshiba puts on their laptops, including games, install my
stuff and after, upgraded/updated the security from microsoft.

So Far So Good.. no issues...just have to freaking return the rebates
so I can save like 300 bucks...
