similar to this: [URL]http://groups.google.com/groups?selm=3e94c957%241_6%40corp.newsgroups.com&oe=UTF-8&output=gplain[/URL] i have TWELVE sv24s, all configured the same: 5400rpm single-platter maxtor 5400rpm drive celeron 900mhz cpu 256mb crucial sdram sony cdrom & floppy intel etherexpress pro/100 network adapter they all have the same problem, which has developed over time. windows with a gui is essentially unusable on these machines - any time text is entered, an app is opened, or whatever the screen goes black and the system has to be hard reset. text mode in freebsd or linux works great. clean installs here, tried acpi/non-acpi and a variety of driver combinations to no avail. safe mode with networking only mitigates the problem a bit, but it still shows up. the boxes worked perfectly fine for a while, but after about a year power supplies started failing (which i replaced) and this started happening (even on the ones with new psus). clearly appears to be video-related...
