The subject basically says it. I've reset the bios, tried a couple
different drivers. The gigabyte website says to use some Sigmatel
drivers, these register as not working properly. Its kinda silly,
thats with a manual install. The automated installer doesn't even
install anything it seems. The more generica Via 686 AC97 WDM driver
people seem to reccomend registers as working properly, but no wave
input or output devices are assigned to it. The CD audio passthrough
does work. I'm unsure if the soundblaster support works or not, from
what I understand this thing is strictly line-out only and basically
puts out no power, basically it can't even drive headphones from what
people have said, which I just figured out. Anyway thats why I'm
focused on getting the waveout device, if its there I know its
actually working and then I can worry about powering speakers. Is
there some other driver to try, or something I can do to get windows
to assign a waveout device with the via 686 ones?
