A friend gave me a computer with the above mboard when they upgraded. As far\nas I know , the audio was working fine.\nI reformatted and reinstalled Windows but the onboard audio isn't working.\nThe info from Device Manager has a yellow flag beside the C-Media AC97 Audio\nDevice.\n\nProperties show\n\nGeneral Device can not start ( Code 10 )\n\nDriver 126.96.36.199 Installed by Windows\n\nResource " Device isn't using any resources because it has a problem "\n\nSo far I have confirmed that it IS enabled in the bios\n\nI've deleted it from Device Manager and on reboot, it's recognised and\nWindows tries to re install it , but fails.\n\nBefore the reformatting , I installed a video card , but I have since\nremoved it and tried again , with the same results ( no go on the video ). I\nknow the 2 probably aren't connected , but it was the only major change to\nthe system.\n\nIt seems it might be a hardware problem with the audio itself. It's not\nreally a big deal because I'm using it as a backup computer that doesn't\nreally need sound anyway , but of course, if I could get it work , that\nwould be great. I'm just not sure if I've overlooked something , or\nsomething's turned off that should be on ? I don't have a manual.\n\nTIA !
