GA-7VTXE incorrect CPU type?

Discussion in 'Gigabyte' started by Paul Westwell, Feb 22, 2004.

  1. Hi all.....

Hope someone can help here because this is driving me crazy!

I have a GA-7VTXE mb (jumperless version) and did have a XP1700 CPU fitted
for the past two years. What I noticed was that XP reported the CPU as
unknown (when you go into system/general) but thought little else of it at
    the time.

I have now fitted and XP2400 and the system now reports this as an XP1800+
    1.5Ghz

I have the latest BIOS F9 and cannot get it to recognise my CPU as the
    correct type.

    Help please!

    Regards,

    Paul

What leaps to mind are the jumper settings. CLK_JP has pins 1 and 2 jumpered
    together thus setting up 133MHz.
The CALK_RATIO should be >=12.5 OR Auto which ever give the best results
    with the F9 BIOS.
Your memory has to be at least PC 2100.
