gigabyte motherboard bios won't accept upgrades

    I have a gigabyte motherboard- titan- ga-8vd6777-rev1 that won't accept
    bios updates. The message I get ,is bios error,check id. I have checked the board id and it is the correct one and the downloads are from the gigabyte website and the correct ones according to my boards id.
    Can I overcome this or is this not possible?
