HDD Compatible with SS5?

Discussion in 'Sun Hardware' started by russell cutcliffe, Feb 15, 2004.

  1. Hi,
I can get access to some Seagate ST118202LC Hard drives (18.2G, 10K rpm,
    LVD).

Is anyone out there able to say whether I'm wasting my time trying to put
one of these in to a Sparc5?

I'm aware of the 2GB root partition thing, is there anything else I need to
know, like forcing single ended etc?

    thanks,
    Russell

The new disk will auto-detect the electrical environment on the SS5 SCSI
bus and switch itself to SE mode. You should have no problems with this.

  3. SCA connector or not? With SCA easy, without needs external enclosure.

    Generally automatic.
