I have an XP 2100+ processor, and had some weird problems, and an even weirder solution: (it was in an NF7-s). One morning, it wouldn't boot, so I stripped the system to bare MB out of the case, vid, and ram. To make a long story short, it wouldn'y even post unless when I seated the CPU, I kinda shimmed it about twenty thou. (.020") out of the socket. Then, (of course, once I've reattached the HSF), it would boot and run WinXP fine, even did some gaming without a hitch. If I re-seat the cpu until it's all the way against the socket, not even a beep. Seems like it likes the pressure of the HSF retainer to be pushing against the pins. I've replaced it with a 2500+ Barton, so it's just a spare waiting to go to the range ; ) Have any ideas? Also, If I do have to put it down, I have my choices:
7MM Remmington Magnum
.338 Winchester Magnum
7.5 x 55 Schmidt-Reuben
.444 Marlin
12 gauge, single or double barrel
.22 Long Rifle (But you'd never choose that, would you) .357 Magnum .45 ACP
Which would you prefer? Any help will be appreciated.
