Could anyone tell me which is the latest bios and driver package download for Abit HotRod100 Pro controller and some do's and don'ts

Are you referring to the Highpoint controller? the HotRod package, I *thought* was a driver pack that Abit pushed with their earlier BX series boards and such but I could have that wrong.

which mobo are you talking about here?

He needs to specify his mobo. FYI, the driver disc that came with my KT7A-Raid still referred to the Highpoint controller as a "HotRod Controller." Makes me think of a speed controller for slot cars.

you know, I may be confusing the HotRod with another set of driver packages that was shipped along with the board so that may be my bad.

The HotRod100 Pro
was a stand alone controller card based on the Highpoint 370 chip {ATA100} Abit also made boards with this controller onboard For example BX133. The reason I asked this question was because on the Abit site they have a driver package {Driver+Bios update} HPT37X_drv231.exe Driver Issue
Date: 2002/08/02

I was wondering if anyone had used these .
So all in all there would be no need to specify what board I am using.

yeah, you're right... got cornfused. I carry many versions of the Highpoint bios integrated with BX133 and BE6-II v.2.0 bios on my ftp server at the address below. custom bios sets are under the /beta section just to keep them apart from regular Abit released bios sets.

http://www.highpoint-tech.com/ Their HPT370/372 BIOS & drivers work fine with Abit 'HotRod' cards. If you update the BIOS to v2.3x, same as with an embedded controller, the RAID array will need rebuilding. I'm still using two HotRods, one on an NF7-S for a 160GB RAID0 with two 80GB WD Caviar SEs. (The SATA chip corrupts data, so I don't use it.) The other is on an NF7 with a single Maxtor Plus8. (I'm running three optical drives on the ordinary IDE channels.) I updated both HotRods to BIOS & Drivers v2.34 from the Highpoint site before installing WinXP HE & WinServer03...

Ciao...

the array doesn't always get trashed... or is there another reason that you say it needs to be rebuilt?

Nah, poor wording on my part - the array _may_ need rebuilding is what I should have written...
