How does non-stand Toshiba/Compal miniPCI pinout differ from others?

Discussion in 'Laptops' started by Jeffrey J. Kosowsky, Jul 7, 2003.

  1. Getting 3rd party mini-pci wireless cards to work on Toshibas has been
challenging since Toshiba apparantly uses a different pinout for the
    miniPCI card.

Experimentally, one can get 3rd party cards to work by "covering" pins
    11&13.
    - Does anybody know what those 2 pins do?
    - Someone mentioned that Toshiba may have switched the assignment of
pins 11 & 13. Can anybody validate this?
    - Finally, is there anything one can do in software (e.g., the
registry) to undo the effect of Toshiba's non-standard miniPCI scheme?
