How many hard drives w/ stock power supply?

  1. I have a Dell XPS_R450 with the stock power supply rated
at 200 watts. I'd like to run four (4) Maxtor Diamondmax
Plus 9 hard drives (7200 rpm, ATA/133) in the machine.
Assume cooling would not be a problem. Would there be enough
power available, assuming no other drives (e.g. optical burners)
are running and no more that 2 hard drive will be seeking at the
same time? Maxtor specs the HDs at about 13w during Seek,
and about 7 1/2w during Idle. Assuming 2 idling HDs and
2 HDs doing a seek, that comes to 41w instantaneous power.
Average power use for the 4 HDs during a file copy from one
HD to another might be 35 1/2w.
Does the Dell power supply have the ooomph?
