How to get a CD software program to recognize the CD?

Discussion in 'IBM Thinkpad' started by Angelo Campanella, Jun 3, 2011.

  1. Problem: I have an old Jeppesen FlitePro Flight Simulator on CD purchased
ages ago that used to work (using joystick) on a windows 98, etc machines.
It, like old MS Flight Sim stuff requires the presence of the paid CD in the
CD drive in order to operate. My MS FS 9 works like that OK, but it is about
useless for instrument flying (no visibility (blind) flying) where gages do
    all the work.

So I want to revert to the Jepp FlitePro. But on my T43, when I swap in the
FlitePro CD and start the software installed from that CD, said Jepp
software does not find that very CD. It's a recognition problem. The Jepp
software executable can't find some sort of key. Jeppesen no longer supports
that software, and has shut down the FlitePro site (domain now up for sale).

So, my question is: How do I get the Jepp executable to recognize the CD in
    the T43 drive?

    Ange.
