I have resolved problem with HPT366 and Maxtor 80GB on WinXP. I'have been looking for resolve for long time, but I haven't found, now I make it myself
OK. First of all, install the BIOS v.1.28 (I don't remember how did I get this), then install drivers 1.25.1 fo winNT (ftp://ftp.abit.com.tw/pub/download/fae//HPT366_2kxp.exe). With other drivers my HD was very slow, (up 10 MB/s), except this one. Now while windows is shutting down, HD doesn't make horrible sound. It works fine
