I am having trouble with I think the IDE controllers on my motherboard.

  1. I just built a nice gaming rig and I got done installing windows and
all my drivers and everything. I loaded up Star Wars knights of the
old repbulic and started playing and then it just randomly cuts off.
When the comp restarts it tells me that the hard drive has a problem
and then it starts up again. I thought this was originally a bad hard
drive so I sent it back and got another one this one being a western
digital 120gigs and it is still doing the same thing. I really don't
know what is going on with this thing and I need help.

try changing out the IDE cables.
    try changing hard drive jumpers.
if you installed windows w/o locking out the internet until firewall was up,
you might have virus/trojan issues. also make sure windows is updated.
also check for any updates to the game. I had troube with FarCry crashing and
got the patch from their website and that seemed to help.
