IBM Netfinity 5000 Processor upgrade

Discussion in 'IBM' started by Technical I.T. Ltd, Oct 11, 2003.

  1. Hi,

I've just "inherited" (ok, liberated from a skip), the companies IBM
    Netfinity 5000, it has a single P3 500 (slot 1) CPU (100mhz). Question is,
the board is 100mhz only and supports dual processors. I am aware of the VRM
required to go multi processor but can I put in Slot 2 P3 Xeons ? Currently
can only seem to find P3/1 ghz/100mhz (here in UK). What would be the max
CPU I could go to ?

    Regards

    Toby
