IBM T30 Cannot boot Rescue Media CDR

    My T30 Laptop, DVD drive, will not start the program on any bootable
    CDR. This Laptop runs WIN XP PRO SP2 with 1 GB RAM.
    During boot I hear the drive making clicking sounds a few times then
    WIN XP starts instead of the CDR Rescue Media bootable program. On my
    desktop PC, the same CDR will boot and run the program on the CDR.
    I cannot boot any CDR on the T30. What needs to be done to allow
    bootable CDR to run their programs?

  2. Try carefully cleaning the lens of the drive and see if that helps.
    Otherwise, replace the drive...

    Try setting the CD as the first bootable drive in your BIOS; that may help.
