tell us what IDE channel the drive is on and how the system is configured as far as the other drives? do you have the burner on SATA or what?

the burner is not on SATA.

I tried any combination of IDE
seagate HD on IDE 1 master burner on IDE 2 master
HD IDE1 master - Burner IDE1 slave
etc.. etc..

Thanks in advance

I got hte same problem here :
My IC7 refuses to recognize correctly this burner
green led keeps flashing startint at power up till windows 2K launched and unable to find the burner.

Help appreciated
I had similar problems - the abit forum ( http://forum.abit-usa.com ) has some mention of compatibility problems. The problem was intermittent when I was using the SATA interface as a RAID0 drive. The problem has stopped now that I am only using one IDE drive on IDE0. So it seems to be a compatiblity problem with Cyberdrive and Intel SATA chipset (?).

FYI:-

I have NEC ND-1100A and ND-1300A DVD-Burners on Parallel IDE1 Master and Slave on my IC7-G (BIOS 1.3 or 1.5). Nary a problem. Work perfectly as either DVD or CD burners (or readers).
