Identifying bad sectors on a drive

Discussion in 'Apple' started by André G. Isaak, Jul 4, 2006.

  1. Hi all,

Is there any way to find out how many bad sectors exist on a drive --
specifically on an iPod which lacks SMART.

    TIA,

    André

  2. Go to the website of the manufacturer of the drive. They usually provide
diagnostic utilities. Then install the drive in an appropriate system (mostly a
    PC) and the utilities.
