info about interfacing a webcam with a microcontroller

hi,
i want to interface a usb web cam with a microcontroller , to capture the image process it and send the relevent info to a pc. now thing is i donno how to do the interfacing or wot so ever. can any one help me ... which things i really need to know coz im really new in this
