I ordered a new battery thru Pacific. Current battery is pretty much used
up, only holding a charge for maybe 25 minutes. The battery indicator in the
    systray correctly indicates that status.

My question: when the new battery comes and I put it in and charge it up,
will the gauge immediately reflect the new status. Or, does it take a few
charge/discharge cycles before it reflects the status from memory (ie: does
it use some kind of memory feature or can it tell from the battery itself
    what is happening)

    Got the battery.

Seems to be working first time here, too.

Battery working fine -- looks like it will last 3-4 hours on a full charge
