    Hey Group,
If anyone is interested, SigmaTel in Austin, TX is hiring a number of
embedded software positions. Mostly for ARM-based firmware developers,
spplication engineers, etc. We're also looking for digital designers,
SoC architecture, managers, etc. A lot of the positions are listed on
    the web site (www.sigmatel.com).

In case you don't know, SigmaTel makes the SoC's used in about 60-70%
of the world's MP3 players. In addition to the chips, we also develop
most of the software. We've historically focused on DSP-based systems
but are now hiring for our new ARM-based platform. I don't think that
it would be hype to say that SigmaTel is one of the hottest
semiconductor/software companies in the USA right now. Anyway go check
out the web site. If you're interested and think that you can
contribute, send your resume to careers and sigmatel.com (I'd
appreciate letting them know that Matt Henson sent you so I can get
credit, though that's not a big deal).
Anyway, this is a great group so maybe there's a good match!

Three cheers for Matt Henson!!! Guess I'll cancel my travel plans for
Bangalore, and now head to Austin! I was looking forward to eating lots of
curry and riding in a tuk-tuk, now I guess I be eating barbeque and riding
in a ford Excursion. Ah, such are the whimsical fortunes of life!

If you're going to come to Austin you'd better leave the Excursion and the
sarcasm at home. You'd probably fit in better with a mountain bike or some
jogging shoes and an optimistic attitude.

You're right, though; we do have great barbecue, but we've also got great
Tex-Mex/Interior Mex, Thai, Cajun and some pretty decent Indian food, sushi
    and other treats as well.

    or some

Hmm, not so sure about that. When I've been in Austin I've seen an
awful lot of 4WDs. Lots of Jeeps. Didn't see anyone riding bicycles.

The most useful thing I bought in Austin was "Best of Texas II" (recipe
book). Unfortunately it is getting a bit stained and the spine is
coming apart. Tex-Mex is the cuisine to follow. Why go to TX for Thai
